Why Waypoint exists

A guiding conviction for homes, churches, and public life.

  1. Family

    Strong families build character.

  2. Church

    Faithful churches provide spiritual direction.

  3. State

    Responsible citizens strengthen communities.

Jesus Christ is Lord over all.

That conviction reaches further than a Sunday gathering. It shapes homes, work, leadership, relationships, churches, and public life.

Colossians 1:18

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Formation

Discipleship reaches everywhere life happens.

Not simply knowledge. A life shaped by surrender, obedience, character, and faithful action, under the Lordship of Jesus.

Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Waypoint model

Faith that holds
in real life.

Life is not lived in a vacuum. It is lived in homes, among the people of God, and in the public square.

So we form disciples for the three places where faithfulness is tested every day:

  • Familywhere character is forged
  • Churchwhere the compass is set
  • Statewhere citizenship is lived
01FamilyThe foundation of character. Equip people to build Christ-centered homes, develop strong character, lead with love and responsibility, and raise future generations in faith.
Psalm 127:1

Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

02ChurchThe spiritual compass. Ground disciples in Scripture, worship, prayer, fellowship, accountability, service, and participation in a healthy local church.
Psalm 119:105

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

03StateLegal order & responsible citizenship. Teach responsible citizenship, respect for lawful authority, civic responsibility, justice, service to neighbors, and wise engagement in public life.
Micah 6:8

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
